The JDRF Fairfield/Westchester County Chapter is pleased to honor and celebrate the Weismann Family of Westport, CT.

Astrid Weismann has been living with type 1 diabetes for 36 years. She has been an active member of the JDRF community through her involvement in JDRF Advocacy and through her fundraising efforts in both Connecticut and New York. Her enthusiasm for JDRF’s mission has made her an essential member of the Westchester/Fairfield chapter’s Catwalk Committee for 5 years and Gala Committee for 2 years. As the Fund A Cure Chairperson for Gala 2016, she helped raise $330,000 on the evening of the event. Astrid and her husband of 13 years, Paul, have three boys: Owen (11), Aidan (9) and Rhys (5), who are also actively engaged in fundraising efforts; you can find them at the Gala and at One Walk, Norwalk. Astrid worked as a Marketing and Advertising Executive for pharmaceutical companies before retiring to raise her children. Currently, Astrid is in her second term as a member of JDRF’s Fairfield/Westchester Board of Directors. She also serves as a Board Member for the Brighter Lives for Kids Foundation and volunteers her time and talents to run a community library at the Cesar Batalla School in Bridgeport.
